According to a survey, an overwhelming majority of U.S. citizens think cosmetic surgery is more accepted today than it was five years ago, with almost as many stating that this shift in perception has made them more comfortable about "getting work done" themselves. More

A new California law named for rapper Kanye West's late mother requiring a physical exam and medical history before cosmetic surgeries isn't likely to lead to better patient safety, some cosmetic surgeons said. What the legislation calls for is already common practice, the doctors said. The new law also states that violating this provision "would not constitute a crime," so charges would not result. More


Lip injections may add youth to the face

New research suggests that women who want to look years younger may not need to undergo any major plastic surgery—at least not yet. For now, a simple lip injection may do the trick. Unilever funded a study of more than 250 women of various ages to figure out what feature most separated older women from younger women. According to lead researcher David Gunn, the women who looked young for their age had something in common: thicker lips. More
