In a government report published recently, 29 percent of patients in rehab facilities suffered a medication error, bedsore, infection or some other type of harm as a result of the care they received.

Hospitals & Health Networks
While keeping up with health care's evolving reimbursement models, technological advances and treatment philosophies requires hospital leaders to continuously look beyond their buildings' walls, some leaders are realizing their biggest gains by subtle but steadfast cultural shifts within their own organizations.
Two hospital leaders: Terri Poe, CNO and senior associate vice president, University of Alabama Hospital, and Patricia Tietjen, vice president, medical affairs, Western Connecticut Health Network and Danbury Hospital, are prime examples.
3 Next Generation ACOs Bow Out of Shared Savings Program
Following several high-profile exits from the Pioneer Accountable Care Organization program, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services thought its newer "Next Generation" model would resolve the problems that led to the ACOs giving up on the shared savings program. Clinton Medicare Buy-In Plan May Appeal to Insurers, Employers
Employers and insurers might benefit if Democrat Hillary Clinton were to win the presidency and persuade Congress to expand Medicare, policy experts say. The potential for corporate backing for a Medicare expansion likely would depend on how a future president and Congress shaped such a proposal.
