New CE center provides ACMA members access to free CEs
ACMA
If you've logged into the Members Only section of the ACMA website recently, you probably noticed that it has a new look. The Members Only section has been redesigned to provide members with a more intuitive, user-friendly experience and better access to member benefits and resources. Four main sections: "My ACMA," "Preferences," "Resources" and "CE Center" organize member information and benefits in a dynamic interface. Be sure to visit the CE Center within the new Members Only section. The CE Center provides members with access to free continuing education opportunities, such as ACMA’s bimonthly journal, Collaborative Case Management.

Check out the CE Center and the rest of the new Members Only section at www.acmaweb.org/login.

Standard handoff practices help children's hospitals cut errors
FierceHealtthcare
Hospitals can cut handoff-related errors nearly 70 percent by standardizing care transfers during shift changes, according to a study published ahead of print in the journal Pediatrics. Patient-centered care about more than just financial gains
Hospital Impact
According to author Thomas Dahlborg: Recently, my intention was to follow up my recent post highlighting kindness, compassion and patient-centered care with additional positive signs of a healthcare transformation where patients and families are engaged, care teams are healthy and whole and positioned to honor their patients, and patient preferences, patient safety and healthcare outcomes are all being optimized. Yet, making the transition away from operating as a single, discrete practice unit according to a fee-for-service payment model can, admittedly, be difficult. Created as part of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, ACOs are drawing close scrutiny from many different stakeholders.
