Twelve U.S. states are to receive $28.5 million from the Department of Energy (DOE) to support energy efficiency projects for homes and businesses. The awards under the State Energy Program are divided into two categories, with $25.5 million going towards efforts to develop retrofit markets for residential and commercial building and $3 million to help states establish policy and program frameworks for energy efficiency investments.
