President's Message

The 4th of July 2010:
Independence Day better known in modern times as the 4th of July is a grand and great holiday in the United States of America and is often a favorite of young people who especially enjoy the exciting colorful and noisy traditional fireworks. The fireworks, however, are but a symbol of the meaning behind the 4th of July celebration of independence. The meaning behind the 4th of July Independence Day holiday came about as the result of the valiant efforts and strong commitment of our American forefathers not so very long ago. We owe a great deal to our founding fathers and an even greater debt to those who stand and defend our freedom. Have a safe and wonderful holiday!

It's bigger than Wal-Mart, employs more people than the United States Post Office, and far outspends all its competitors. It's the US Department of Defense. Next year, though, budget cutters in Congress and the White House will probably begin cutting it down to size in order to slash America's outsize budget deficit.

Farewell Phil:
DeCA Director Phil Sakowitz retires this week after 35 years of service. His presence was felt and will be missed. A philosopher once said the light the workforce follows is the flame that burns in the heart of its leader. The light at DeCA has remained bright. Moreover, when the battle is over and the prize is won the citizens will say we did it ourselves. Phil Sakowitz was a leader. Knowing Phil, the date of his retirement marks an important milestone but more importantly the beginning of things to come. We wish Phil Sakowitz the best...he has earned it!

Gates, who warned of the dangers of replacing General McChrystal, others, like his political advisers, who thought he had to go. He reached out for advice to a soldier-statesman, Colin L. Powell. He identified a possible successor to lead the war in Afghanistan. Finally, the president ended General McChrystal's command in a meeting that lasted only 20 minutes. The New York Association of Convenience Stores (NYACS) has decided not to support the wine in grocery stores bill currently before the Assembly as the Wine Industry and Liquor Store Revitalization Act, the Albany Times-Union reports. AAFES Price Cuts - Clearance Definitions
Applicable to retail facilities worldwide
  • PRICE CUT: Price Cut is a temporary or permanent price reduction on an item that is to remain in the stock assortment.

    The Yellow/White shelf Labels are to be used for Week 88 Price Cut merchandise.

    Place the yellow/white shelf label over the existing shelf label and remove once the temporary price expires.

    Yellow "Price Cut" Poppers are to accompany the yellow/white shelf label to make it easier for customers to quickly identify instant savings.
  • CLEARANCE: Clearance is an initial or subsequent markdown on an item that is phased out of the stock assortment.
    Price Labels to be used:

    Red, Was/Now/You Save Sticker(Zebra Label)
    • Place the Sticker on the merchandise tag or on the front of the package in the upper right hand corner.
