99 MW of new solar power projects coming to Ontario
CleanTechnica
The Ontario Power Authority has just extended its solar feed-in tariff program and selected another 99 MW of solar power projects to receive payments from it. This comes from 330 new contracts. In case you’re not familiar with feed-in tariffs, they are when renewable energy power producers are guaranteed a specific rate for the electricity they produce and send back into the grid for a specific period of time (e.g., 15 years or 20 years).

Renewable Energy
A research team from Guelph University in Ontario are investigating how to cook farm waste in order to turn it into biofuel. The scientists have concluded that cooking farm waste in order to turn it into biofuel should now be possible and also makes sound economic sense. The team is particularly interested in using ‘wet’ waste that is usually difficult to use and have developed a fairly simple procedure to transport the waste and produce energy from it.
