Poehling: Time for Congress to Take up E-Fairness Issue
Last month we welcomed the 114th Congress, including Minnesota's newly elected 6th District Rep. Tom Emmer. The previous Congress detrimentally overlooked an important piece of legislation that would have ended a decades-long government-sanctioned price advantage for online-only sellers. E-Fairness legislation, like the Marketplace and Internet Tax Fairness Act, would have allowed Minnesota to require online retailers to collect sales tax at point of sale, as our brick-and-mortar businesses do currently. Katie Poehling is the Chairwoman of ASA's Women in Industry Division and also represents First Supply, LLC which is an ASA Member and has multiple Minnesota locations. Join Poehling and other Women in Industry at this year's Spring Conference in Washington, D.C., in April – REGISTER NOW.
