Beschloss: US Oil Refiners Greatly Accelerate Capacity Usage On-Site
The Beschloss Perspective
It was only five years ago that serious project planning was underway to increase the already 144 world-leading U.S.-based oil refineries, despite their growing multibillion-dollar cost and the years needed for completion. Additionally, because "fracking" was as yet not a factor, U.S. refineries were heavily dependent on crude oil imports from Saudi Arabia, Venezuela, Nigeria, and the embryonic shipments from Canada's tar sands.
