NetworkASA, Better Year After Year
American Supply Association
After another successful NetworkASA, ASA has set the bar high for next year's annual convention in Chicago, Oct. 27-29. This year's event featured some big names along with industry experts making for a fantastic event at the luxurious Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas. Those who were in attendance were able to enjoy Regis Philbin with his surprise guest Don Rickles, NFL's Jimmy Johnson and Seal Team Six's Robert O'Neill. All were entertaining as well as very informative and shed some light on the PHCP-PVF industry from a different perspective. ASA thanks everyone who was able to make it out this year, and stay tuned to see what we will have in store for next year in Chicago. See you then!

Key Industry Group Releases Study on Growth in the Energy Supply Chain
American Supply Association
From Sept. 25: The Energy Equipment and Infrastructure Alliance, which ASA is a member, released a report this week highlighting the broad reach of the energy supply chain and what it could achieve if we improved our energy policy. Specifically, from 2012 to 2025, energy supply chain jobs grow by almost a quarter of a million, from 524,000 to 757,000, jobs paying nearly 18% above the nation's median wage. As the report states "Oil and gas operators in the upstream, midstream, and downstream sectors share a symbiotic relationship with their immense network of suppliers. Suppliers benefit from the enormous investment required for the exploration, production, processing, and transport of oil and gas resources. And it is the suppliers of materials, capital equipment and services that complete the virtuous circle by enabling operators to commercialize otherwise inaccessible hydrocarbons." Inaugural Women in Industry Event Exceeds Expectation!
Supply House Times

Women in Industry panelists address
attendees at last week's inaugural
event.
From May 1: Word travels fast. This is especially true for the American Supply Association. It's also a very good thing for the organization's new Women in Industry group. When Katie Poehling of First Supply and Ashley Martin of NIBCO decided to start a group just for women in the plumbing industry through ASA, they were hopeful in their expectations. "We thought maybe 50 women would join, but we have more than 80 women attendees who have signed up for this event! It's amazing," Poehling said.
