British Columbia harbour aerodrome's lack of profit will make transfer tough
    Victoria Times Colonist
Victoria Harbour's water-based airport — now on the lookout for a new operator — is not a profit-making enterprise, says the chief executive of the Greater Victoria Harbour Authority. The federally operated aerodrome is running on a "negative business case," Curtis Grad said. Its "business model today is a pure cost model," Grad said. "There is no cost recovery per se coming in from the harbour master function."

Construction underway for Regina hospital helipad
    Metro Regina
Shock Trauma Air Rescue Society (STARS) air ambulances will soon be able to fly directly to Regina General Hospital instead of stopping at the airport, saving time and potentially someone's life. Barry Tolmie, a pilot with the STARS, says taking away the need to land at Regina International Airport — instead using a hospital helipad — allows patients to see a trauma team about 15 minutes quicker. "When you are dealing with critically injured patients, minutes count (and) sometimes seconds count," Tolmie said.

Flying in for food and fun
    Merritt Herald
The Merritt Flying Club is welcoming the public to have some pancakes and learn a little more about aviation at its annual fly-in breakfasts. The event can bring in as many as 30 aircraft from all over British Columbia in addition to the 10 that typically use the Merritt airport, flying club member Herb Graham said. "I've lived in this valley for over 50 years, and I've never seen the airport this active," Graham said. "It's just booming and busting at the seams."
