Our conference theme for 2015 is 'Building on Our Growth Opportunities.'
Saskatchewan is home to more than 1.1 million people and is among the leaders in population growth. We are a thriving province. Export trade is our backbone and we have the natural resources the world wants.

Student Chapter at the University of Regina: Popsicle bridge recap

The South Saskatchewan Section has been working for a number of years to establish a Student Chapter at the University of Regina. One means to accomplish this has been the Section's partnership with the University to host a popsicle bridge building competition. In January 2015, the Section and the University hosted the 3rd Annual event. Student participation has been growing and this year a total of fourteen teams entered the competition. Approximately 40 students, engineers and faculty attended the event. Please click here for the Global News highlights from the event!

University of Calgary wins the CSCE Cup

The University of Calgary were the top winners at the Great Northern Concrete Toboggan Race in Kelowna this weekend, taking home the CSCE cup as well as first place in the King of the Hill race. Click the link to read the entire article and to see photos from the event.

Engineering firm AMEC searched in Mount Polley mine spill probe
The Globe and Mail
Engineering firm AMEC says one of its offices was served with a search warrant as part of the investigation into the Mount Polley mine spill. Lauren Gallagher, a company spokeswoman, wrote in an e-mail that AMEC's office in Prince George, B.C., was the target of the warrant. AMEC is the engineer of record for the Mount Polley tailings dam, the site of the spill last summer. She said the company is co-operating fully with authorities.

Hamilton joins other big cities in need for transit and infrastructure

Hamilton needs to stay "in lockstep" with the rest of Canada’s larger cities in calling for more money for infrastructure, transit and affordable housing. That was the message from Mayor Fred Eisenberger after he attended the Big Cities Summit. Eisenberger joined 19 mayors from across Canada to talk about common issues they face.
