Students from across the country will be presenting their final year projects with a poster and two minute presentation to be evaluated by industry judges. Cégep de Chicoutimi is top of the pops
Concordia University hosted the 31st Annual CSCE Troitsky Bridge Building Competition. Thirty three teams and hundreds of students gathered in Montreal for three days of fun and competition, including bridge building, design presentations, and the infamous bridge crushing! Congratulations to Cégep de Chicoutimi who held on to the title of overall winner, which they also earned at last year's competition.

Wynne unveils Ontario's plan to join emissions cap-and-trade system

Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne is joining Quebec and California in a cap-and-trade system to reduce greenhouse gas pollution. She announced the initiative Monday morning before leaving for Quebec City for a climate change summit with other premiers.

Highway 407 to enter its final build phase

The Highway 407 East project is expected to enter its final phase later this fall and be completed by December 2017. The two-year project will start from Harmony Road to Taunton Road and Highway 418 and go further into development, connecting several highways and providing eight new interchanges.

China rejects Taiwan as founding member of infrastructure bank

Taiwan is not able to become a founding member of the Beijing-led Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) but is still welcome to become an ordinary member in the future, the Chinese government said.

Apology issued after noisy TTC construction crew works through the night

Crews are working through the night in an effort to get a major downtown construction project done faster, prompting complaints from those living in the area. The intersection of Spadina Avenue and College Street was completely closed on Monday, and will remain closed until April 27. The closure allows city crews to rip up and replace aging TTC streetcar tracks in the area.

Multi-million dollar facelift for Chatham

Downtown Chatham will receive a multi-million dollar facelift but the details on how the project will unfold are still being worked out. "We're still working away on our capital plan here for this year and there's a bunch of other things that are going on that still require investigation," said Nelson Cavacas, Chatham-Kent manager of infrastructure and development engineering, in late March.
