CSCE National Office regrets to inform our members that Past President Martin Jones passed away on April 6. Many of you will remember Martin and may have been aware that he is no longer with us. There will be a service commemorating Martin's life on May 30.

Hamilton's LRT construction to begin in 2019, GO extension to begin 2017

Hamilton's long-delayed LRT is moving ahead. Premier Kathleen Wynne on Tuesday pledged up to $1-billion in provincial funds to build the light-rail line from McMaster University to Queenston Traffic Circle, passing through the heart of the city. A spur up James Street North will connect it to the new West Harbour GO Station.

Township to apply for infrastructure funding

Brock Township is looking to tap into a new federal funding program to celebrate Canada's 150th anniversary but has yet to decide what local project to submit for consideration. At Monday's (May 25) administration and personnel committee meeting, councillors were provided information on the government's Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program.
