Another Successful CSCE Capstone Competition
CSCE
Twelve teams from across the country travelled to Regina to participate in the 3rd annual CSCE Capstone Competition. Teams presented their final year design project with a poster and two minute presentation. The winner was Polytechnique Montreal.

Un autre Concours Capstone réussi
SCGC
Le troisième concours annuel Capstone de la SCGC eut lieu le 31 mai 2015 au Congrès annuel de la SCGC à Régina. Des équipes de 12 écoles différentes de partout au pays y ont participé et ont présenté leurs projets de conception de dernière année avec une affiche et une presentation de deux minutes. Les juges venant de l'industrie furent très impressionnés par le niveau de professionnalisme et les connaissances de toutes les équipes et ont du mal à sélectionner les lauréats.

CSCE Student Paper Competition Winners Honoured in Regina
CSCE
Winners of the CSCE Student Paper Competition were announced at the Student Awards Luncheon at the CSCE Annual Conference in Regina, SK. Local student, Nathan Bruce of the University of Regina took home top honours with his paper titled "User-Updateable Municipal Benchmark Database for the City of Regina."

Le Concours de la communication étudiante de la SCGC de cette année s’est déroulée à Regina, Saskatchewan durant le congrès annuel de la SCGC. Parmi les centaines de communications présentées au congrès, 27 faisaient partie du concours étudiant. Les participants, du premier et du deuxième cycles, venaient de partout au Canada. Vale sanctions underground mine at Voisey's Bay
CBC News
Mining giant Vale has approved construction of an underground mine at Voisey's Bay that will extend the life of the northern Labrador mine by about 15 years and provide hundreds more jobs. A company spokesman said construction will begin next year, and is timed to ensure a continuity of supply for the new multi-billion-dollar nickel processing plant in Long Harbour.

Rural communities in P.E.I. get infrastructure funding

A number of rural communities in Prince Edward Island are upgrading their gathering places, thanks in part to Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program funding. Marking the 150th anniversary of Confederation in 2017, the Canada 150 funding will invest in projects that improve community infrastructure assets to better serve residents and visitors alike.
