Newport, RI, water rates could double by FY 2015

A new plant has been deemed necessary to meet state and federal water quality regulations, which will require a more than $3.5 million revenue increase. According to the Newport Water Division, the projects will require a FY 2012 revenue increase of $3,526,708.
