REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN for 2015 IDS National Conference, #INNOVATION 2.0: The Evolution of Branding, May 19 – 20 in Fort Myers, Florida. This year's conference will be centered on the evolution of branding and innovation in design. Visit the Conference page on the IDS National website for more information and to register (please note that IDCEC CEUs are currently pending). If you purchased entries in the 2014 Designer of the Year competition, your completed project entries must be submitted to the IDS National Office on or before Feb. 27 using the submission guidelines. Click here for more information.

If you have not yet paid your 2015 IDS National dues, please contact the IDS National office at 336-884-4437 ext. 223 or 225 to remit a payment. As of Jan. 31, you will no longer be able to login to the IDS website to pay your dues since your account will be suspended due to lapse in membership.

Interior Design Licensing Still Being Sought in Oregon

Efforts to create a state-approved licensing program for interior designers have stalled while advocates revamp proposed legislation in hopes that it will be more palatable to Oregon lawmakers. A bill proposed last year, Senate Bill 1521, was backed by Interior Design Collaborative-Oregon and would have required interior designers to obtain a license to work on commercial spaces. It gained some traction, but failed to advance out of committee.
