Patrick Dempsey's Welcoming Malibu Home
Architectural Digest
Time has a way of domesticating what once seemed radical and avant-garde. In 1968, when Frank Gehry started work on a combined studio and residence in Malibu, Calif., for artist Ron Davis, the architect was still an outlier, just beginning his revolutionary experiments with forms and materials. Nearly half a century later, Gehry has won virtually every honor his profession has to offer. And the rhomboidal corrugated-metal-clad live/work space he created for Davis? Today it is the warm, artfully decorated home that actor Patrick Dempsey and his wife, Jillian, a makeup artist and jewelry designer, share with their three children, 12-year-old daughter Talula and 7-year-old twin sons Darby and Sullivan.

Cameron Diaz's Manhattan Apartment in New York
ELLE Decor
Cameron Diaz is that rare actress who can rock a surfboard as convincingly as she does the red carpet. Whether riding a rogue wave or a wave of publicity, the towering blond, blue-eyed beauty with the blinding smile oozes glamour both on and off the screen. So it makes sense that when it came time to rethink the interior of her apartment in Manhattan, N.Y.'s West Village, Diaz looked to the West Coast's reigning queen of razzle-dazzle, Kelly Wearstler, to give the space a healthy dose of Hollywood swagger.

Facebook Develops A Photoshop For Interaction Design, And It's Free For Anyone To Use
Fast Company
We've already waxed poetically about Facebook’'s new app Paper, which reskins the bloated Facebook experience to feel like a top-tier interactive media product. The Facebook feed is reimagined as a grid of cards that put video and images first, and you can explore them through innovative gestures — like tilting your camera to pan through a panoramic photo. Paper is part of a new initiative announced recently by Mark Zuckerberg, to imagine the mega social network as a series of discrete apps — no doubt to compete with the next wave of social media and news startups without offending the users of Facebook's core service.

Stories Boards Tell — And How To Untell Them
By Michael J. Berens
Keeping board members on track is never easy, but what do you do when your board falls prey to misinformation — in particular, misinformation of their own making? One member may make a comment, ask a leading question or convey a recent conversation that contains inaccurate information. Before someone knowledgeable can respond, another member has repeated and reinforced that inaccurate information. In short order, the entire board is engaged in debating a story that is riddled with error and unfounded assumptions about a situation that does not, in fact, exist.

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon Want $13 Million for Los Angeles Manse
Curbed National
Pop diva extraordinaire Mariah Carey and her Nickelodeon star-turned-producer husband Nick Cannon have listed their Hamptons-style mansion in L.A.'s Bel Air area, asking $12.995 million for what the brokerbabble describes as a "magical estate" with a bathroom "reminiscent of the finest hotel." It's the kind of mansion that has "wings" instead of rooms, with a movie theater, basketball court, putting green, and "Aspen room," all spread over what The Real Estalker calls an "almost incoherent" floor plan.
