Access Lighting

Vapor, so named for its “out of thin air” three dimensional appearance, is created by the diagonal cut of the glass. Equipped with a floating canopy, you have the flexibility to position the three, four or five light series as desired, regardless of the location of your j-box. The low profile of this series ensures ADA compliance, and the halogen light source provides more than adequate light for a bathroom setting.

Living Together, With One Condition: His and Hers Houses
The New York Times    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
Until about a year ago, Laura Ann Jacobs lived contentedly alone in a small San Francisco studio. Now she is cohabiting, sort of, for the first time since college. Her roommate, Robert Pardo, a kindly, thrice-married art dealer, wooed her with an offer she couldn't resist: her own bungalow, right behind his. Theirs is a new twist on a newish trend, particularly among boomer-age couples, known as living apart together, or L.A.T. for short, an acronym that describes those who commit to each other, but not to having the same address. The Washington Post    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
A seven-bedroom, seven-bath Spring Valley home, which has belonged to the same family since 1956, soon will open as the fifth annual DC Design House. Twenty-three designers transformed the Northwest Washington, D.C., property, which will be open for four weeks as a fundraiser for Children's National Medical Center. The designers had about five weeks to redo the exterior and interior, including an outdated kitchen that was treated to a $250,000 makeover. More

Reuters    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
Five years ago, Justin Edmund arrived at Carnegie Mellon University, a floppy-haired freshman, with artistic talent and dreams of joining a venerable design firm like IDEO or Frog. But during his sophomore year, a recruiting pitch from a Facebook employee turned his head, and prompted a detour of his ambitions. So, in 2010, Edmund interned on Facebook's burgeoning design team, and, after graduation, landed a job at Pinterest. There, at just 21, he has played a central role in building the virtual scrap-booking site into one of the hottest startups on the Internet. More
