In 2014, IDS will be issuing new membership cards. Similar to a credit card, these cards are much more durable. You can expect to receive your 2014 membership card in January. Due to the change in how our membership cards will be made, there will be a $10 replacement fee (in advance) for each replacement card ordered.

The weekend crowds blocking Ponus Ridge Road in December of 1948 were in a holiday mood, The New York Times reported. Hundreds from "this conservative old community of early colonial homes" turned out to watch workers put the finishing touches on a house few could have predicted would become a modernist classic. The structure was, of course, Philip Johnson’s Glass House, a building that cemented the reputation of an architect whose varied gifts would eventually gain him every accolade in his profession, and that itself stands as perhaps the best-known example of domestic modernism.
