The Austin D. Lucas Scholarship Fund was created as a benefit to children of MDNA member firm employees.
The scholarship applications for the 2014-2015 academic year have been mailed. Completed applications must be received by May 15, 2014 at the MDNA headquarters for consideration for the following Fall Semester.

Today, manufacturing is poised for a comeback.
Obama Adds Manufacturing Research Hubs
President Barack Obama unveiled two more manufacturing innovation institutes in his National Network for Manufacturing Innovation intended to push forward advanced manufacturing technologies and sustain long-term growth of high-tech jobs in the United States. The president announced the selections of two consortiums, one in Chicago that will develop cutting-edge digital and virtual manufacturing and design tools and the other in Detroit that will cultivate manufacturing techniques for lightweight, high-performance metals and alloys.
Manufacturers Optimistic Overall, But Energy Costs Are A Concern
According to a recent PwC report, industrial manufacturing CEOs are more optimistic this year compared to last, but energy costs are still a question mark. They're worried about a slowdown in new growth markets and rising labor costs. They'll also need to ramp up risk management to cope with transformational trends, like technology, shifts in economic power, and resource scarcity and climate change.
Machinery Market Tips
Used machinery auction prices stayed strong through the end of 2013, despite the expectation for a more profit-challenging environment. "Farmers need to be aware of what's happening in the used machinery market to buy at good prices," says Greg Peterson, Farm Journal Media's used equipment values expert.

Manufacturing Expands in February, ISM Reports
Manufacturing grew in February despite disruptions in the supply chain from poor weather, the Institute for Supply Management reported today. The monthly PMI index increased 1.9 percent to 53.2 percent in February from 51.3 in January.
