It is with deep sadness that we inform you that Marion Valitt, the mother of David and Andy Valitt of MDNA member firm Machinery Values Inc., passed away on Monday, July 3rd. She is also survived by another son, Peter Valitt, and former husband Gene Valitt. She was the daughter of Al Hamburg of Hamburg Machinery.
Services were held at Wellwood Cemetery in Farmingdale, New York, on July 5th.
In lieu of flowers feel free to donate to the National MS Society.

Michael and Judy Feinstein, of Universal Metalworking Equipment, are very excited to announce that their son Jeffery and his wife Alli have given birth to the newest member of the Feinstein family. Julia Pearl was born yesterday Monday July 17th at 10:15am. Michael reports that Mother, dad and granddaughter are all doing great.

A bipartisan and bicameral group of lawmakers is proposing a bill that would incentivize and boost American manufacturing, in addition to research and development, as the Trump administration looks to keep a promise from the presidential campaign. Representatives have introduced the Invent and Manufacture in America Act, a bill that would give a tax credit to companies that not only conduct research and development, but also manufacture products resulting from that R&D as well.
U.S. manufacturing suffers from an important image problem that undermines its competitiveness, according to a new survey released on July 13 by Deloitte, along with the Manufacturing Institute. Only 50 percent of Americans think manufacturing jobs are interesting and less than 30 percent are likely to encourage their children to pursue a career. However Americans have not yet given up hope on the industry and in fact are overwhelmingly optimistic for its future.
By generating cash more efficiently companies will be able to accelerate their growth ambitions so they can trade in new markets, expand their product range or employ new colleagues, without the need to obtain external funding. Businesses often look at short-term actions to improve working capital, including delaying payments or reducing inventory around financial period ends.
