The ideal candidate is one who recognizes the importance of developing bilingual and multicultural students for the future. The candidate needs to be skilled in working with various cultures from around the world as they staff the school. Bilingualism, Spanish/English is not a requirement for the position, however it will be advantageous. A strong skillset for communication is a requirement as demonstrated through past performances.
Within the Hall County School System, the World Language Academy is a Pre-K through 8th grade Dual Language Immersion conversion charter school. The school is an innovative model focused on developing globally minded world class bilingual and multicultural students. In its 7th year of existence, its international staff from over 13 countries has worked diligently as recognized by numerous awards and student performances. This includes but is not limited to recognition as a Georgia School of Excellence and the CASIE International Education Award to name two of many.
Our developing bilingual students have the opportunity to explore additional languages such as Mandarin Chinese and Portuguese, as well as exploring Career Pathway courses in Culinary Arts, Business Marketing, Invention and Innovation, and Education to name a few. The international staff has received and is currently involved in professional development from the International Baccalaureate model and Integrated Arts pedagogy as they work on developing integrated units for all grade levels.
