'Judge Joe Brown' Star, CTD explore split

If an ongoing contract negotation between CBS Television Distribution and Joe Brown, star of CTD's Judge Joe Brown, is not resolved, syndication's second-highest rated court show might star a different judge next fall, according to several sources. That's despite the fact that the show is renewed on TV stations through the 2014-15 TV season.

Jeff Zucker fields complaints about CNN diversity
Reuters via Chicago Tribune
New CNN chief Jeff Zucker is trying to ease concerns about diversity at the network by meeting with advocates for black and Latino journalists. Zucker met with executives from the National Association of Black Journalists and is scheduled to meet with the National Association of Hispanic Journalists on March 8. He agreed to look for talent at the group's regional conferences, NAHJ president Hugo Balta told TheWrap.

Oscars 'In Memoriam': Where was Lupe Ontiveros?

Many Latino fans were shocked that beloved Mexican-American actress Lupe Ontiveros, who died in July, was snubbed not once but twice in the Oscar's "In Memoriam" tribute. With a 35-year-long career in Hollywood, including roles in such movies as "Selena," "As Good As It Gets," "Real Women Have Curves" and "The Goonies," the Academy failed to mention Ontiveros in their televised tribute but also in their "In Memoriam" online gallery, which honored 114 stars not included in the telecast.

A television network that offers programming aimed at African-Americans is stepping up advertising sales operations as it attracts a growing roster of blue-chip marketers. The network, Bounce TV, part of Bounce Media, has hired Dennis Ray for the new post of executive vice president for advertising sales. Ray, whose résumé includes stints at Fox Broadcasting and NBC, is based in a new New York sales office for Bounce TV, which has headquarters in Atlanta.
