Time Warner will split from magazine unit in third spinoff

Time Warner Inc. will spin off its magazine business later this year, turning the nine-decade-old publisher of Time, People and Sports Illustrated into a separate publicly held company. The board authorized management to proceed with the plan after a review of options, the New York-based media company said in a statement. As part of the move, Time Inc. Chief Executive Officer Laura Lang will step down from the role.

ABC News to hire CBS's Byron Pitts
Politico
ABC News is finalizing a deal to hire Byron Pitts, a contributor to "60 Minutes" and chief national correspondent for the CBS Evening News, Politico reported. Pitts will serve as both chief national correspondent and anchor at ABC News, and will appear across the network's programming. ABC News President Ben Sherwood is expected to announce the news next week.
