CNN wins 4 NAMIC vision awards

Cable news network CNN was the big winner at the 19th annual NAMIC Vision Awards. The cable news network won four Vision Awards during the live ceremony — the first for the Vision Awards in two years — at the Pacific Design Center in Los Angeles. The 2011 and 2012 Vision Awards were presented online.

A+E Networks has bought out the stake held in its Asian networks from joint venture partner Astro Overseas Limited to take full ownership of AETN All Asia Networks. Terms of the deal weren't disclosed. As a result of the transaction, the Singapore-based joint venture company formed in 2007, AETN All Asia Networks, will be rebranded as A+E Networks Asia.

Comedy Central will air a November concert special featuring iconic comedian Bill Cosby, the network announced recently. The concert special, "Far From Finished," will be directed by Robert Townsend and will debut on Comedy Central Nov. 24, said network officials. The concert, compiled from material that Cosby performed at the Cerritos Performing Arts Center earlier this summer, will mark Cosby's first televised special in more than 30 years.
