Time Warner Cable leads way in diversity programming

Recently, both companies announced their distribution agreement of a multi-platform, multi-year project to deliver additional Univision content to Time Warner Cable and Bright House Network subscribers. Asian actors take lead roles in HBO's 'Serangoon Road'

HBO Asia's first original co-production with Australia, 'Serangoon Road,' is adding veteran actress Joan Chen and rising Indonesian talent Ario Bayu to its Singapore shoot, co-produced with Australia's ABC TV, the new 10-episode detective drama is set in the heady days of 1960's Singapore, a time when traders, gangsters and well-healed international expatriates intermingled in secret societies and along the colorful sidewalks of 'Serangoon Road,' Singapore's first major throughway, which linked the island's many vibrant ethnic communities.

As TV doctor dramas go, 'Doc McStuffins' is no 'ER.' The protagonist is a cartoon preschooler who provides primary healthcare for stuffed animals from a backyard play house. In a typical episode, she diagnoses her little brother's teddy bear with acute “dusty musties” and prescribes a good laundering. The brave bear rides the waves and emerges from the washing machine clean enough to snuggle the boy without aggravating his allergies.

VH1's TLC biopic draws 4.5 million viewers

VH1 scored with its original movie 'CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story,' which became the network's highest-rated telecast in more than five years. The recent premiere averaged 4.5 million total viewers, a 2.9 rating in adults 18-49 and a 5.5 rating in women 18-34. 'CrazySexyCool' ranks as the No. 1 original cable movie this year in adults and women 18-49 and VH1's highest-rated original movie ever.

New insights on how mobile marketing can engage Hispanic movie-goers

Despite the fact that Hispanics movie-going habits exceed those of the general U.S. population, discovery and purchasing habits were not as technology-driven as expected, as shown in a study conducted by Lopez Negrete Communications, Inc., Social Lens Research and MocoSpace mobile gaming platform. Social Lens Research recruited 2,308 U.S.-based Hispanic respondents via MocoSpace to determine if movie discovery and purchasing habits among Hispanics relied heavily on the use of social media and mobile devices.
