Have you participated in any of NAMIC's education programs: Executive Leadership Development Program (ELDP); NAMIC Leadership Seminar; the L. Patrick Mellon Mentorship Program? If you answered yes to any of these, we'd love to hear from you!

NAMIC is pleased to announce the launch of the 2014 Education Programs Impact Study. The study will assess the impact of NAMIC's core education programs on various aspects of participants' career paths. It is part of our ongoing effort to ensure that we are meeting the needs of our constituents through a relevant portfolio of programmatic offerings.

As a thank you to all survey participants, we will be holding a drawing to award a complimentary registration ($1,500 value) to the 29th Annual NAMIC Conference, set for Sept. 29 and 30, 2015, at the New York Marriott Marquis, to five survey participants. If you have already completed the survey, please email to enter into the drawing.

Your feedback is extremely important, whether you have actually participated in one of the education programs or not. We appreciate your participation in the survey and look forward to your feedback. Click here to take the survey.

Don't change that channel: 2014-15 season an African-American milestone
WBUR-FM
Back in the day, there were so few African-Americans on TV that every showing was treated as an event. It was such a big deal, Jet magazine would list on its back page every on-air appearance by a prominent African-American so its readers could properly plan their weekly viewing schedule. These days watching African-Americans in primetime is no longer a special occasion. Still, the 2014-15 season is quietly shaping up to be something of a milestone — not only because of the quantity of shows starring black actors and actresses but also for the diversity of those leading roles.
