Infrared saunas are the next model boxing.
It's the latest new-old thing that has received attention from fashion types, celebrities, and social media influencers.
If you are a physician or longtime wellness nut, it's likely you already know about them. For decades, hospitals and medical treatment centers have used them to foster growth for premature babies and expedite healing for athletes and the elderly.
Researchers at The Marcus Institute of Integrative Health at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia have shown there are changes in the dopamine and serotonin systems in the brains of people who take part in spiritual, meditative and religious retreats.
The researchers conducted a study that included 14 Christian participants, age 24 to 76, who attended a seven-day Ignatian retreat, spending much of their day in silent contemplation, prayer and reflection.
Active ingredients in skin care abound these days — if you want to diminish fine lines, use a product with vitamin C; salicylic acid combats acne; hydroquinone is an effective brightener — and as most consumers are looking to target more than one skin issue at a time, layering or combining products is a common practice. (In Korea, women are known to layer as many as seven products at a time.)
But mixing actives may not be the best course of action if they aren't already compounded in one product, experts say.
Liz McDonald has some advice for yogis and other health club professionals considering adding marijuana to their member experience.
"I think it [adding marijuana] has to be done for the right reasons," McDonald told Club Industry. "I’m not a fan of, 'Hey, we're going to do this because it's trending.' I take yoga very seriously. I think it should not be something that is habitual, but more sacred."
McDonald said she was ahead of her time in 2010 when she opened a cannabis-"enhanced" yoga class at her Los-Angeles-based Brazilian Yoga studio, which ceased operating in 2015.

Think back over all of the supervisors, bosses and managers for whom you've ever worked. Pick out the ones who were truly exceptional. What characteristics did they have in common? Chances are that you'd find that the best managers consistently performed these two functions effectively: setting clear expectations with staff members, and coaching employees to help them master skills. Let's consider how these two managerial functions are applied to develop staff members.

As leaders, we have the luxury of making and implementing decisions rather quickly. Instead of having to convince layers of people above us why something is a good idea, we need only convince ourselves it is worth doing. The problem arises when implementing good ideas conflicts with our modus operandi. In such cases, if we take a minute to listen, we will hear ways to increase ideas and decrease complaints that we can implement right away.
Digital marketing is a very broad term that includes website design, social media, online advertising, email advertising, SEO and more. This can be extremely confusing to the local business owner simply looking to attract more eyeballs on their site. They are typically too busy running operations to investigate which digital marketing strategies work best for their business.

Joe Biden recently announced his favorite of the Biden-Obama bromance memes that really took off last fall. Biden's daughter, Ashley, told Moneyish her dad laughed "for an hour" when she told him about the viral memes. And really, that's what memes are all about. They're funny. They're nonsensical. And best of all, they're supereasy to replicate, so there's a never-ending stream of content. So, should your brand be using them in your marketing materials?

Educators often look for classroom inspiration from instructional strategies that "work," focusing on how many students improved based on a given strategy. While that's important and helpful, focusing only on how a strategy works, without examining why it didn't work for some learners, is a missed opportunity. Examining the conditions when a strategy is ineffective or unintentionally misleads students doesn't necessarily mean teachers should abandon that strategy altogether, but it does help them plan ahead for how it might backfire.

If you have ever worked with a personal trainer, you know it is possible to have a love-hate relationship with that person who literally stretches you farther than you may be comfortable going. The personal trainer helps you achieve your strength and fitness goals by teaching you and guiding you through the exercises that will give you the maximum benefit. An effective leadership performance coach works in much the same way.
