Using data collected from a high end dating agency and a cosmetic surgery clinic, researchers found a growing number of women are searching for a partner who not only comes with the promise of professional and financial success but one who will also look the part when accompanying them to functions and social occasions.

SPF found to be key in makeup and skin care as market booms

According to market researcher NPD Group, demand for makeup and skincare with SPF is booming as the segment reached $1.1 billion in U.S. prestige department stores from June 2012 to May 2013, a 24 percent increase from three years ago. The report reveals that in makeup and skincare segments, products with SPF 15 remain the largest segment in sun protection with more than half of dollar sales.

Yoga as a complimentary treatment for autism is growing in popularity. Research has been conducted on yoga as a complementary treatment for autism. A 2012 study published in the American Journal of Occupational Therapy examined the effectiveness of the Get Ready to Learn classroom yoga program on children with autism spectrum disorders. The authors concluded that use of a daily classroom yoga program has a significant effect on classroom behaviors in children with autism.

    It is the position of the NCEA that: (1) Low frequency, low power, ultrasound and sonic devices intended for skin cleansing, exfoliation and product application, should be used by a "licensed professionals"; (2) There shall be a minimum level of education for the use of low frequency, low power ultrasound and sonic devices; and (3) If licensed professionals wish to use low frequency, low power ultrasound and sonic devices, they should take the necessary licensing education to include theoretical and practical application as part of their core curriculum or as continuing education modules.
