NDA

$35 for members, $50 for non-members

Too many employees withhold their safety concerns because they’re afraid of the consequences of speaking up and many of us misconstrue concern as criticism. Speak Up! and Listen Up! prepare both parties, the messenger and the receiver, to handle safety-related feedback respectfully and work together to develop solutions. Don’t let another safety contact end badly; too much is at stake.

Camden, New Jersey, eyes safety, crime in vacant home demolition effort while neighbors question future
South Jersey Times via NJ.com
State, county and city officials in Camden, New Jersey, came together out front of 1510 Louis St. to watch the bricks fall from the first of about 600 vacant or abandoned homes slated to come down. The idea of the two-part project is to eradicate dangerous eyesores while giving criminals one less place to call home base. "For many years, we know our residents have battled with blight, crime and decay," said Mayor Dana Redd, later adding, "We know safe corridors can really be safe corridors when we remove these vacant properties."

How a good lien strategy gets you paid
By Nate Budde
A thorough lien policy is one of the best ways to ensure payment. However, it's important to note that filing a lien is only one step in a lien policy, and it's a step that a successful lien policy will rarely use. In fact, in the larger scheme of lien strategy — as it relates to credit management and receivables policy — if the rest of a company's credit policy is working, most projects won't ever require a lien to be filed. There are five steps necessary to a functional and successful lien policy.

5 project management and field crew meetings that help your business
ForConstructionPros.com
Too often managers call too many meetings to report on what’s happening and don’t involve the attendees, ask for input, have meaningful discussions, or adjourn with an action plan. Without scorecards and weekly feedback, results don’t matter much to supervisors. Therefore the meeting leader must create a scorecard tracking system to record each attendee’s performance on every job for all to see every week. This will improve job performance and allow your foreman and supervisors to know, track and hit their goals rather than working blindly without anything to aim at.
