Crumbling Cincinnati building saved
Cincinnati.com
A crumbling building on the edge of the Over-the-Rhine area of Cincinnati that was declared a nuisance two years ago will be salvaged after neighborhood residents rallied around it over the weekend. One person even raised more than $2,000 in a GoFundMe campaign aimed at saving 1706 Lang St. Built in 1855, the three-family structure had been set for demolition.

Demolition and reconstruction will close Lynchburg, Virginia, bridge for 18 months
WDBJ-TV
Bridge construction will cut off traffic on a busy road in Lynchburg, Virginia, for the next year and a half. Starting next month, crews will begin demolishing the Kemper Street bridge over the Lynchburg Expressway. Traffic will be detoured until a new bridge is finished in September 2016. Around 10,000 cars travel across the bridge every day. The structure is in bad shape and replacing it is expected to cost less than making repairs.

The construction payment structure is complex, and the extensive network of parties on every construction project means there are inevitable payment delays. Federal officials sue Maine demolition firm over unpaid fines
Construction & Demolition Recycling
Federal workplace safety officials have sued Scarborough, Maine-based Downeast Construction Corp., seeking to collect fines for a series of safety violations during a demolition and asbestos removal operation at the Forster Mill complex in Wilton, Maine. According to an article in The Bangor Daily News, U.S. Attorney Thomas Delahanty filed the lawsuit, seeking to enforce $271,979 worth of penalties assessed by the Occupational Hazard and Safety Administration after inspections in 2011.
