The contractor that demolished the former Adams County (Illinois) Health Department building and five other buildings that stood within the footprint of the new county jail has filed a lawsuit saying the county owes it more than $100,000.
Filed recently by Quincy attorney Tad Brenner, Blick's Construction Co. Inc. is seeking to have the county pay a $117,019 bill dated April 17, 2017, for additional work required during the demolition of the properties. The lawsuit alleges that the project manual did not include additional tasks that were required, meaning Blick's did not build those costs into their bid.

Minnesotans long knew Dayton's as a store with just about everything, and it is proving even more so as crews demolish the interior of the iconic downtown Minneapolis store for redevelopment. The latest: a dead monkey.
"We don't know a lot about this monkey, but I can say that there was a monkey found during renovation. We continue to find a lot of pieces of history like this in the Dayton's project as we redevelop the building," says Cailin Rogers, a spokesperson for the project.
