Man pleads guilty in Philly demolition that killed 6
USA Today
A Philadelphia heavy equipment operator pleaded guilty July 21 to involuntary manslaughter and recklessly endangering for his role in a botched building demolition that killed six people two years ago. Sean Benschop wants to "take responsibility for his actions and the responsibility he bears for the loss of life," lawyer Bill Davis told the Daily News before the plea was entered. "He cries and prays almost every night for those people who lost their lives and their families."

Tavern Uptown demolition in Denver draws ire of preservation advocates
The Denver Post
Denver historic preservation advocates are rallying around a turn-of-the-century commercial building in Uptown slated for demolition as part of an apartment complex development at East 17th Avenue and Pearl Street. As of July 21, Historic Denver had gathered more than 200 signatures on an online petition asking developers to "save the historic Tavern Building and urge its incorporation into the new project," executive director Annie Levinsky said.

Kodak building reduced to rubble
Construction & Demolition Recycling
Kodak Building 53 in Rochester, New York, was imploded on the morning of July 18. According to local reports, M.B. Glick was responsible for the demolition The 92-year old building was situated on Eastman Business Park. Officials from Eastman Kodak say they want to attract new biomaterials facilities in the eastern portion of the Eastman Business Park campus. One big project has already been announced: a fermentation cluster.

Asbestos removal, demolition debris recycling underway at Florida State
Environmental Leader
CES Synergies has begun asbestos removal and demolition debris recycling as part of a demolition and abatement project Florida State University. CES’ scope of services includes asbestos removal from Deviney Hall and demolition of both Deviney Hall and Dorman Hall. The buildings are nine-story dormitories that were built in the 1950s.
