By mid-February, all traces of the Pier's approach, the bait shops and the controversial 1973 inverted pyramid will be wiped from downtown. Group that owns Metz Mansion in Omaha, Nebraska, plans to proceed with demolition
Omaha World-Herald
Orange construction fencing has gone up around Omaha, Nebraska’s old Metz Mansion — signaling the new owner, Mansion Flats LLC, is moving forward with demolition despite an offer from a buyer wanting to restore it. John Metz, an Iowan who presented an 11th-hour offer to buy the house, said he had worked up a viable budget to renovate the 106-year-old structure that’s been condemned since a January fire. But, Metz said, he could not afford the cost of renovation on top of the price Mansion Flats wants for the property at 3625 Dewey Ave.
