This annual insert is one of the Association's largest public relations effort outside of the Association's extensive public relations program and represents an outstanding opportunity of NDA members to showcase their skills and experience to ENR's global circulation of over 250,000 readers.

Detroit renews effort to raze blighted buildings

At a sprawling, abandoned public-housing complex that once was home to Motown music legends, a backhoe clawed into a wall to mark the city's renewed campaign against blight. Detroit Mayor Dave Bing stood next to U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Secretary Shaun Donovan to oversee the beginning of the demolition the 78-year-old Frederick Douglass Homes complex, which officials said had become a haven for criminals, a drain on police and firefighting resources, and a drag on property values.

Demolition worker killed at St. Paul, Minn., ballpark site

A construction worker was killed after an accident at the site of the St. Paul Saints' new ballpark in Minnesota. The collapse happened near the 300 block of East 5th Street, at the site of the Lowertown Ballpark construction currently underway. At around 8 a.m. during demolition of the old Gillette factory, a part of the building collapsed on a construction worker with a subcontractor for Ryan Contracting. The worker was operating a backhoe when the collapse happened.
