Free Webinar — PCBs in Caulk
NDA
November 13
1 p.m. EST – 2 p.m. EST

PCB's in Caulking has come to the national forefront for owners, managers, contractors and consultants. For years, this environmental dimension was rarely discussed and/or addressed as an environmental concern for parties that have some level of liability to identify, maintain, demolish, remediate and/or dispose of regulated caulking products.

In an effort to identify the regulatory requirements, assessment, monitoring and accountability methodologies, along with the liabilities for all of the parties that may be involved in a project, the NDA has convened a panel of experts that will: provide an overview of the PCB in Caulking Rule, discuss assessment procedures and work plan development, and identify some of the legal responsibilities and exposures that exist for all parties involved in projects where PCB's are encountered.

NDA's Brandenburg begins demolition of Wrigley Field bleachers as part of major renovation of park
Chicago Tribune
Chicago Tribune photojournalist Brian Cassella writes, "I got a call from the office to run over to Wrigley Field this afternoon and check out construction work on the bleachers. Everyone knew the Cubs would begin their big renovations to the Friendly Confines soon, but we didn't know their schedule. The bleacher demolition along Waveland Avenue was in full swing when I arrived and the sights and sounds were dramatic. The strength of the machines that could tear steel I-beams apart and clip them in half was incredible. One woman working the gate said she thought she was watching a Transformers movie."

Detroit Free Press via Engineering News-Record
Preliminary work began recently on the site of the former Packard plant in Detroit, as a crane and trucks hauled off pieces that presented a safety threat, according to a person overseeing the project. "We have begun safety measures to remove reinforced concrete off the rooftops of several buildings that are hanging and are dangerous to the community," said Kari Smith, the site project manager. Smith estimated this phase, which does not involve tearing down any buildings, will take about two weeks. The work is being done by O'Brien Construction and NDA member Adamo Group.
