As the NDA will be celebrating 40 years of service to the demolition industry at its 2013 Annual Convention in March in San Diego, the association has decided to develop a commemorative yearbook to present each convention attendee. This yearbook will feature a history of the association going back to its founding in 1973, an expanded Convention Program and a list of the services offered by the NDA to its members. What better way to honor your association than to purchase a congratulatory ad in this one-time gift to our members. 2013 Environmental Excellence Awards applications available
NDA    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
Applications for the NDA's 2013 Environmental Excellence Awards will be mailed out to every association member early in July. This program, designed to promote the demolition industry's commitment to environmental stewardship as outlined in the organization's mission, has been very successful with both members and their clients. These awards are presented to NDA members that perform projects that have a significant impact on the quality of life in the community where they did the work or developed a product or service that does the same.

This year's awards will be presented by Environment Committee Chairman Chris Godek of New England Yankee Construction of Milford, Conn., March 25, immediately following President Don Rachel's welcoming address at the NDA's 40th Anniversary Convention at the Hilton Bayfront Hotel in San Diego. Award winners receive two awards, one for their own firm and one to present to the client they did the work for. The NDA's Environment Committee established this program to enlighten our customers, the construction community and the general public to the major role the industry plays in enhancing the quality of life in the towns and cities where we work. Look for the 2013 Environmental Excellence Awards application forms soon. The applications will also be available online on NDA's website.

Construction professionals are embracing the ability of Building Information Modeling to visualize the installation of prefabricated building modules, such as concrete beams and floors. However, minor discrepancies can enter the calculations when supporting components, such as cast-in-place concrete beams and columns, are slightly deformed when formwork sags and twists during placement of fresh concrete.
