Sponsorships at the NDA's Annual Convention
NDA    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
One of the best ways to support the National Demolition Association and its programs is by sponsoring an event at its Annual Convention. The NDA's show is the largest exposition of demolition equipment and services in the world.

There are numerous sponsorship opportunities available which include the cocktail reception before the Annual Banquet March 8, the two breakfasts March 6-7, the morning coffee breaks March 6-7, the room keys at The Mirage and several other excellent opportunities to market your product or service while supporting the NDA.

One of the easiest ways to support the Association is by sponsoring a golf hole or contest at our Annual Golf Tournament held this year at a new venue, the Paiute Golf Resort in Las Vegas. The new start-time is noon to allow our players to sleep in March 5.

The Golf Committee has expanded the sponsorships to a three-tier system for next year's 24th Annual Tournament.
    $500 – 1 Golf Sign
    $1,000 – 2 Golf Signs and 1 Golfer
    $3,000 – 4 Golf Signs and 4 Golfers
Sponsorship also entitles your company name and logo on the Golf Sign, your company name on the scorecard and a listing in the Convention and Post-Convention issues of Demolition magazine.

The NDA really needs your support to expand its membership and programs. For more information contact the NDA at 1.800.541.2412 or

Architecture Billings Index reverts back into negative territory
American Institute of Architects    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail
Following the first positive reading since January 2008, the Architecture Billings Index (ABI) dropped nearly two points in October. As a leading economic indicator of construction activity, the ABI reflects the approximate nine to 12 month lag time between architecture billings and construction spending. The American Institute of Architects (AIA) reported the October ABI score was 48.7, down from a reading of 50.4 the previous month. This score reflects a decrease in demand for design services (any score above 50 indicates an increase in billings). The new projects inquiry index was 61.7, down slightly from a nearly three-year high mark of 62.3 in September. More

There are approximately 150,000 Canadian workers monitored each year for radiation exposure in the workplace. Only about 10 percent of these workers actually work in the nuclear industry. Roughly 40 percent of non-nuclear workers are in the health care sector in workplaces such as hospitals, clinics and diagnostic imaging centers. More

NDA    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
The Environment Section of the National Demolition Association's website now includes several new tools to make it easier for NDA members to locate C&D recycling and disposal facilities in the U.S. and Canada. The first is a list of the mixed-use C&D recycling facilities in the U.S. and Canada. This information can be used to locate mixed-use C&D recycling facilities that members can utilize when bidding projects and to secure LEEDs points for their clients.

The second new enhancement to our Environment section is a list of 1,500+ C&D landfills currently operating in the U.S. It can prove to be an invaluable tool for members looking for disposal options across the country. Just go to the homepage of and check on the Environment section in the toolbar at the top to access this valuable information.
