The deadline for applications for the 2012 NDA Environmental Excellence Awards — which will be presented on Monday morning, March 25 at the NDA's 40th Anniversary Celebration in San Diego — is fast approaching. Applications need to be in by December 31. The Association's Environmental Excellence Awards is a great way to showcase your company's skills to the NDA's Mission of Environmental Stewardship. Listen to what a recent Environmental Excellence Award winner, John Lloyd of Lloyd’s Construction Services of Savage, Minn., says about this valuable program:

"The Environmental Excellence award is not only a great opportunity for demolition contractors to spotlight one of their deserving projects, but additionally serves as a great promotional opportunity with clients. When we hand-delivered the accompanying award to the project owner and City of St. Paul Port Authority, they were ecstatic to be included, and just as we did, took full advantage of the public relation opportunities the award provides. It truly was a win-win for all parties involved."

Opinion: To protect and to preserve: Saving historic structures in Raleigh
Raleigh Public Record    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
Raleigh is one of the fastest growing cities in the country. During the last few years, our City Council has adopted a comprehensive plan for how we should grow through 2030, focusing on density rather than spreading ourselves out. With these waves of new development, our city will look drastically different in the coming decades as old and historic structures are torn down. We're building a lot of "new," — and there's a case for saving what we already have. More
