E-book sales rose 167 percent in June, to $80.2 million, at the 15 houses that reported figures, and closed the first half of 2011 with sales up 161 percent to $473.8 million. In addition to e-books, downloadable audio sales, and the religious books and university press segments were the only categories to post gains in June. Other print book sales saw large declines.
