Marriott program encourages guests to tip housekeepers

When you first enter your hotel room, what do you usually see? A door sign hanger welcoming you to your room or perhaps a piece of chocolate on your pillow? What about an envelope to leave a tip for your housekeeper? It might sound strange, but if you're staying at a Marriott property in the next couple of days, you might be in luck. Marriott has partnered with A Woman's Nation to start an initiative called "The Envelope Please" that will allow guests to leave a tip for the room attendant who will be cleaning their room.

Employer health rates rise 3 percent, worker deductibles top $1,200
Los Angeles Times
The price of employer health insurance rose a modest 3 percent this year, a major survey shows, but workers will be paying more when they get sick as deductibles soar. Annual insurance premiums for families increased 3 percent, on average, to $16,834, according to the survey released recnetly by the Kaiser Family Foundation and the Health Research & Educational Trust.
