Study: Temp employment to rise by 13 percent over next 5 years
Staffing Industry Analysts
Temporary employment is expected to grow by 3 percent, or 75,384 jobs, from 2014 to 2015, according to a study released by CareerBuilder. And from 2014 to 2019, it is expected to increase 13 percent, or 354,877 jobs. Additionally, among occupations that pay less than $15 per hour, substitute teachers and home health aides are expected to add the most temp jobs from 2014 to 2019, at 33,099 and 20,420, respectively.

Temp staffing revenue growth maintains pace in January

US temporary staffing revenue rose a median 10% year over year in January among staffing firms taking part in Staffing Industry Analysts’ monthly Pulse Survey. The year-over-year pace is unchanged for the fourth consecutive month.

New York economy adds 16,100 private sector jobs in January 2015, reaches record high of 7.73 million
New York State Department of Labor
In January 2015, New York State’s private sector job count increased by 16,100, or 0.2 percent, to 7,733,100, reaching a new all-time high. The statewide unemployment rate in New York was unchanged at 5.8 percent in January 2015, remaining at its lowest level since September 2008, according to preliminary figures released today by the New York State Department of Labor. In addition, New York City’s unemployment rate was unchanged at 6.5 percent, remaining at its lowest level since October 2008.
