Communication isn't just what we say. It’s how we say something — our tone of voice and our nonverbal cues, including facial expressions and body language. Sometimes our nonverbal cues can betray our intended message. One example that sticks out to me involves our beloved cellphones. Let's face it; we're addicted to those things. Don't believe me? If you've ever experienced that moment of panic when you couldn't locate your phone, you're addicted. Cellphones are great, and they're intended to facilitate better and faster communication, but sometimes we misuse the tool.

Kodak employment continues to shrink
Rochester Business Journal
Eastman Kodak Co.’s local workforce dropped to 2,300 employees in 2013, down from 3,429 a year ago. The decrease included workers that transferred to companies that obtained Kodak businesses, including Kodak Alaris.

CareerBuilder: Education requirements for employment on the rise
Staffing Industry Analysts
For many companies, an associate or bachelor’s degree is increasingly becoming the new high school diploma, according to a survey by CareerBuilder. Twenty-seven percent of employers said their educational requirements for employment have increased over the last five years and 30 percent are hiring more college-educated workers for positions that were previously held by high school graduates.

Survey: 38 percent paying minimum wage will lay off workers if wage increased

If the minimum wage were raised to $10.10 an hour, as President Barack Obama has proposed, 38 percent of employers that currently pay employees minimum wage say that they would have to let some employees go to cover the cost, according to a survey released by Express Employment Professionals.
