In fact, the latest research indicates that a massive majority (94%) of recruiters are either already using or planning to use social media for generating leads and attracting candidates. New York State adds 16,400 private sector jobs
Albany Business Review
The Albany metro area added 5,300 private-sector jobs from February 2014 to February 2015. It was second most jobs of any city in upstate New York following Buffalo, which added 9,100 private sector jobs from year to year.

State reaches all-time employment high of 7.75 million

In February 2015, New York State’s private sector job count increased by 16,400, or 0.2 percent, to 7,751,400, reaching a new all-time high. Since the beginning of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo’s administration, the state’s economy has added 641,100 private sector jobs and experienced employment growth in 44 of the past 50 months. The statewide unemployment rate in New York was unchanged at 5.8 percent in February 2015, remaining at its lowest level since September 2008, according to preliminary figures.

Employers cutting worker hours to avoid PPACA

About one in five U.S. employers either have reduced hours for workers they consider to be part-time, or will do so, in response to requirements of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. That’s what a survey of some 740 human resources professionals conducted by the Society for Human Resource Management found. The vast majority — nearly three-quarters — of respondents haven’t altered schedules to avoid providing health insurance for part-timers working 30 or more hours a week on average. But 14 percent have, and another 6 percent told SHRM they intend to.

Job stability trumps passion for students, survey finds
Staffing Industry Analysts
A majority of U.S. student would prefer a stable job without a high level of emotional investment or passion, 70 percent, over a job with lots of passion but no job security, according to a new survey from Adecco Staffing USA. The survey also found 79 percent of students are optimistic they will find a job in five months or less, and finding a job is still their top concern.

Women, minorities gain ground in U.S. workforce

Women and minorities make up a greater share of the U.S. workforce according to a new report by CareerBuilder. The report, "Changing Face of U.S. Jobs," released this week, looked at how a more diverse population is affecting the composition of nearly 800 jobs by gender, age, and race or ethnicity.
