The human resources firm Adecco Staffing U.S. looked at the U.S. cities with the fullest employment, according to the Department of Labor, as well as internal data around job growth and demand, and then determined which areas are the best for finding a job. While the Washington, D.C.-Arlington-Alexandria, Va., region ranked first and Austin, Texas, second, Ithaca snagged the third spot, aided by its diverse and highly educated workforce. More

Job growth forecast revised upward

Estimates of U.S. job growth were revised upward for the next four quarters, according to the second-quarter edition of the Survey of Professional Forecasters released by the Philadelphia Federal Reserve. New York food wholesaler, immigrant workers settle dispute

A kosher food product wholesaler in New York has agreed to settle a long-running NLRB case by paying $186,000 to former employees who lost their jobs in the midst of a union organizing campaign. The settlement culminates a lengthy effort by the NLRB to enforce an order that Flaum Appetizing Corp. provide back pay to 17 former employees who were unlawfully discharged following a two-day strike. Flaum contended it did not have to pay because the employees were undocumented immigrants. More
