Hanover study: Agents vs. direct — love at 2nd sight
The Hanover Insurance Group recently did an interesting study and for the independent insurance agent, the results are encouraging. It found most customers lured away from an independent agent by direct insurers promising savings will ultimately return to that — or another — independent agent. Nearly 60 percent of consumers purchasing insurance through a direct channel ten or more years ago reported switching back to an independent agent because they wanted more value.
