The workplace: The boss and workplace happiness
Bosses may want to read this one. Employees — at least according to this story — already know much of this information. However, there is a section where employees are given some advice on how to be more satisfied in the workplace. Every year, Interaction Associates — who specializes in workplace performance improvement — does workplace trust research. This year's research is titled Building Workplace Trust 2014/15.

My friend Steve Lishanski has a saying that 80 percent of life is common sense, but only 20 percent of people are using it. In my experience, a similar rule applies to sales meetings: 80 percent are a complete waste of time because simple common sense was never applied. Follow these rules for effective sales meetings and you will no longer find yourself in the 80 percent.

November rates: Same story as October rates
Commercial rates continue to rise at about the same rate they've been rising at for the last few months. MarketScout's November average for all lines — the composite rate — is a 1 percent increase. Personal lines average hikes hit 3 percent.

Former HHS head Sebelius: American's have no clue how insurance works
Former Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius at one time was the governor of Kansas. She also served as that state's insurance commissioner. Sebelius — though critics of the rollout of the Affordable Care Act might disagree — is an insurance expert. In an article found in USA Today, Sebelius said she is stunned about how little Americans know about health insurance.

Obamacare: Small businesses not shopping SHOP
Last year, the Obama administration dropped the Affordable Care Act's Small Business Health Options Program. The rollout of Obamacare was too complex and there was no time to properly do SHOP. The idea behind the program is to boost small business participation in health insurance programs for their employees. Agents — who sold the majority of the Obamacare individual plans last year — had high hopes for this year's SHOP rollout.
