Judges wanted for Quest Awards

The RBMA Quest Awards, a program recognizing those who have excelled in their marketing programs, will be judged, and winners will be announced at the RBMA Building Better Radiology Marketing Programs, in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., on March 19.

We are currently seeking five judges to participate in the program. Judging will take place on Sunday, March 18, beginning at 6 p.m. Dinner will be provided for judges. The time commitment is anywhere from one to three hours. Websites will be judged in advance.

The Imaging Center Survey collects demographic information; data on charges and collections; number of imaging machines, technologists, CPT codes and RVUs billed by modality; and imaging center expenses by category. The survey should take no more than three hours to complete.

New this year:
  • Data on charges and collections will be preloaded in the 2012 Accounts Receivable Performance Survey (A/R Survey) at your request, making it easy to participate in both surveys.
  • Procedure volume will be collected in an uploaded file by individual CPT code and modifier; numbers of CPT codes and RVUs by modality will be calculated for you.
  • Imaging center expenses will be collected and reported by modality to improve the comparability of results. If you are unable to provide expenses by modality, provide overall expenses and they will be allocated for you.

AMA wants Congress to postpone ICD-10 adoption deadline

The American Medical Association urged Congress to postpone the scheduled change to ICD-10 codes in 2013. The ICD-10 codes are supposed to be in use by 2013 as part of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act. Most of the world has already switched to the new set of codes. However, the AMA warns that U.S. doctors are ill-prepared at this point to switch to ICD-10. More
