Right-to-Carry Reform Bill Introduced in Texas
The Legislature convened for its 81st Regular Session last week, and pro-Second Amendment legislation continues to be filed to benefit law-abiding gun owners in Texas. State Representative Carl Isett (R-Lubbock) has introduced House Bill 410, a measure repealing the requirement that Concealed Handgun Licensees display their carry license if they are in possession of a handgun and are stopped by a law enforcement officer who requests identification. Please contact your State Representatives and respectfully urge them to sign on as co-authors to HB 410.. Updated contact information for returning and newly elected House members can be found next week at More

Big Brother's New Target: Tracking of All Firearms
from World Net Daily
U.S. Rep. Bobby Rush, D-Ill., is hoping to pass a firearm-licensing bill that will significantly rewrite gun-ownership laws in America. Among the more controversial provisions of the bill are requirements that all handgun owners submit to the federal government a photo, thumb print and mental health records. Further, the bill would order the attorney general to establish a database of every handgun sale, transfer and owner's address in America. More

The State of the XD
from American Rifleman
Almost a decade ago, the Springfield Armory X-Treme Duty pistol started off as a promising, yet obscure, design. It has since grown into one of the largest, most diverse and affordable families of polymer-frame striker-fired pistols. Excellent ergonomics, simple operation and great variety have helped put the XD in the top tier of modern handguns. More

Telling the Second Amendment to Take a Hike
from Human Events
On Jan. 9, 2009, the National Park Service was tasked to live by the same rules that the Bureau of Land Management and the U.S. Forest Service and the rest of the nation use. On Jan. 10, 2009, the earth rotated. The sun rose. The Constitution still worked. Law-abiding citizens were still, well, law-abiding. Apparently, we all survived. More

Wanted: Hunting Mentors
from The Courier-Journal
License sales indicate that the number of young hunters is declining. Theories as to why include the state's shift to a mostly urban population and kids' obsession with cell phones, text messaging and endless hours of computer face time. As far as Jeff Stewart is concerned, all of those ideas are window dressing for the real reason kids aren't hunting: Adults aren't taking them. More

A Theology of Hunting: Why God Loves Hunting and Hunters
For PETA or some wrapped around an emotional axle Christian to make the Bible anti-hunting they would need an exacto knife. Nowhere in the entirety of holy writ does God, Jesus, Moses, the apostles or the prophets have any problem whatsoever with those who hunt righteously and utilize the meat fully. More
