127 sheriffs won't enforce Obama gun laws; specter of 'door to door' gun search
Examiner    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
Recently, Collin County Sheriff Terry Box of Texas became the latest sheriff to publicly pledge that he would not enforce proposed federal gun bans should they become law, according to Dallas News. Box joins a growing number — now at least 127 — of sheriffs across the nation denouncing President Barack Obama's proposed gun control legislation. Box explained that recent gun deaths have prompted politicians to pass laws that would: "Seriously erode the constitutional rights of innocent and law abiding citizens. Neither I, nor any of my deputies, will participate in the enforcement of laws that violate our precious constitutional rights, including our Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms." More

Gun Appreciation Day was phenomenal success
Ammo Land    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
Observance of "Gun Appreciation Day" was as phenomenal success, the Second Amendment Foundation said after analyzing reports from across the country. "More than a million American citizens attended rallies at their state capitols and other places, visited gun shows or gun shops or went hunting or shooting at a local range," noted SAF Executive Vice President Alan Gottlieb. "These were patriotic, law-abiding people exercising their First Amendment rights to protect their Second Amendment rights." More

Hundreds attend pro-gun rally at Texas Capitol grounds
The Austin American-Statesman    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
More than 600 people gathered on the Texas Capitol grounds Jan. 19 for a rally against President Barack Obama's proposals to curb gun violence. "I do hope you will call your politicians," said state Rep. Steve Toth, R-The Woodlands, adding that the crowd should also reach out to their church pastors to get the pro-gun message out. "We don't need more laws." The Austin rally was one of many at state capitols across the country organized by Guns Across America, a group started by Texas airline pilot Eric Reed. The rallying cry was opposition to the proposals Obama made in response to the Newtown, Conn., school shooting in December. More

FINALLY, a gun lubricant exists that can withstand the most extreme conditions.
After using Safari Charlie Gun Lube Plus, Floro Lavalle with Sierra Outfitters in Argentina reported cleanings were much easier, they were needed less frequently and field jamming went down to almost non-existent. While these statements may seem generic and boring, consider that they shoot on average 2000-5000 rounds per day per gun, OVER 1 MILLION ROUNDS PER YEAR, and pair that with Lavalle’s full season of using Safari Charlie Gun Lube Plus. His report was an 83% reduction in repair/replacement costs. MORE...

Attention New Yorkers: Texas wants you and your guns. Recently, the day after Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo of New York approved a broad package of gun-control measures that made New York's tough gun laws even tougher, the Texas attorney general Greg Abbott began running Internet advertisements in Manhattan and Albany asking New York gun owners to consider moving to Texas. Los Angeles Times    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
A day after President Barack Obama announced a wide-ranging series of gun-control initiatives, the administration kicked off its campaign to create public support and pressure lawmakers to pass the most comprehensive legislation since the mid-1990s. "We're going to take this fight to the halls of Congress. We're going to take it beyond that," Vice President Joe Biden told the U.S. Conference of Mayors. "We're going to take it to the American people. We're going to go around the country making our case, and we're going to let the voice of the American people be heard." More

How might the NRA challenge New York gun law in court?
The Christian Science Monitor    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
The National Rifle Association says it will take to court New York's tough new gun bill, signed into law by Gov. Andrew Cuomo. The new law, called New York Secure Ammunition and Firearms Enforcement Act or NY SAFE Act, is particularly tough on the high-capacity ammunition magazines used in semiautomatic assault rifles. Residents of the state will not be allowed to use magazines that carry more than seven rounds and will be required to sell, within a year, any magazines that hold eight or more rounds. More

New York assault-rifle owners statewide are organizing a mass boycott of Gov. Andrew Cuomo's new law mandating they register their weapons, daring officials to "come and take it away," The Post has learned. Gun-range owners and gun-rights advocates are encouraging hundreds of thousands of owners to defy the law, saying it'd be the largest act of civil disobedience in state history. More

The AR-15, you don't need one and they are too dangerous to own
The Daily Caller    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
Sadly, so called "assault rifles" are getting a lot of negative press lately and are being subjected to a great deal of misinformation. This is not just coming from the usual anti-gun crowd, whom one would expect to lack knowledge about firearms and how they function, but also from supposedly knowledgeable gun owners and hunters, some of whom favor "reasonable" controls on firearms freedoms. Here are a few of the fallacies. More
